My mother moved into the Assisted Living Suite last October. She was quite nervous at first, but the staff took their time getting to know her. Within the first week she was joining the morning exercise group. The meals are wonderful — they even prepare her favourite congee exactly how she likes it. I visit every Sunday and the place always feels calm and well-kept.

We enrolled my father in the Day Care Program after he started spending too much time alone at home. He was reluctant at first but now looks forward to going each morning. The activities coordinator does a great job of matching him with things he enjoys. The only reason I give four stars is that we wish the program ran a bit later in the afternoon.

My father-in-law stayed at Velvet Compass for five weeks following hip surgery. The recovery support was excellent — the team coordinated closely with his surgeon and physiotherapist. What impressed me most was how non-clinical the place felt. He spent most afternoons in the garden. The bilingual staff made things easy for our family since my Thai is limited.

We visited three residences before choosing Velvet Compass for my grandmother. The difference was in the details — the staff actually remembered her name after the first tour, and the care coordinator followed up with us without being pushy. She has been living there since last August, and her mood and appetite have noticeably improved.

My wife and I needed a rehabilitation option for her mother after a fall. The recovery stay at Velvet Compass was well-organized and communicative. They kept us updated regularly and were flexible when we wanted to extend the stay by a week. The pricing was clear from the start — no surprises. She returned home much more confident on her feet.

I was hesitant about the Day Care Program because my uncle can be quite reserved. But the staff handled it beautifully — they introduced him to the gardening group and now that is his favourite part of the week. The activity reports they send are thoughtful and help me feel connected even though I work long hours. Very grateful for this place.

Care Journeys

From Hospital to Home: Khun Sombat's Recovery

The Challenge

After a knee replacement, Khun Sombat's family was unsure how to support his recovery at home. Their apartment had stairs, and no one was available during the day to help him with physiotherapy exercises.

Our Approach

Khun Sombat moved into a Recovery Stay suite. Our team coordinated with his surgeon's office and arranged twice-weekly physiotherapy sessions. Nutritional support focused on bone and joint health, and gentle garden walks became part of his daily routine.

The Outcome

After four weeks, Khun Sombat returned home with improved mobility and a clear home exercise plan. His family reported that his recovery was smoother than they had expected, and he continues to visit the Day Care Program weekly for social connection.

Finding Community: Khun Mae Lek's New Chapter

The Challenge

After losing her husband, Khun Mae Lek became increasingly isolated at home. Her daughter noticed declining appetite and lack of interest in activities she once enjoyed. The family worried about her wellbeing but did not want to uproot her life entirely.

Our Approach

The family chose the Day Care Program, starting with three days a week. Our activities coordinator learned that Khun Mae Lek loved traditional Thai crafts, so she was introduced to the arts group. Meals were prepared to match her home cooking style as closely as possible.

The Outcome

Within two months, Khun Mae Lek asked to attend five days a week. Her appetite returned, and she became one of the most active participants in the afternoon craft sessions. Her daughter says she looks forward to each morning now, which was something the family had not seen in a long time.

A Thoughtful Transition: The Chaiyapruk Family

The Challenge

The Chaiyapruk siblings were struggling to coordinate home care for their father, who required daily assistance with bathing and medication management. Each sibling lived in a different part of Bangkok, making consistent care difficult to maintain.

Our Approach

Khun Chaiyapruk Sr. visited for a trial stay before making any commitment. He met the staff, toured the suite, and joined a lunch. The family was given a detailed care plan outline before signing anything. His move-in was gradual, with family members visiting frequently during the first two weeks.

The Outcome

Seven months into his Assisted Living stay, Khun Chaiyapruk Sr. has settled into a comfortable routine. His children rotate Sunday visits and say the consistent, professional care has given the entire family more peace of mind. The quarterly reviews have helped them stay involved without the daily stress of coordination.
